Alexander Bengert, General Director of Construction Dredging Company LLC, delivered an acute and information-intensive report at VII congress “Hydraulic engineering and dredging” which takes place today in Moscow. He specified a row of problems which this field nowadays faces and made some constructive proposals.

Creation of a unified decision making centre which provides an overall picture of processes taking place in sea ports will benefit to the Russian dredging.

Development and establishment of regulations in price formation through the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia as well and provision of state support measures will be an important step. In addition, it is required to launch implementation of algorithms for long-term chartering of vessels.

– It renders possible to evade formation of high maintenance prices. Long-term contracts for any dredging company extend the period of return of proprietary investments and thereby influence the price formation cost, – he explained.

To his opinion, the field has a positive strategy for the nearest five years.

– For the period up to the years 2028-2029 no less than 17 projects with the total sum of capital investments amounting to 180 bln RUB are upcoming to be implemented. Each of these projects is currently at a certain stage of maturity, i.e. they all as minimum have an approved declaration of intentions and design documentation, – Alexander Bengert pointed out.

VII congress “Hydraulic engineering and dredging” that gathered more than 400 participants together takes place in Moscow on February 27-28, 2024.
